Each year, the Canadian Unity Council, through its Centre for Research and Information on Canada (CRIC), sponsors the Prix d'excellence - six awards given to reporters with French-language Quebec community newspapers for outstanding reporting.

In keeping with the Council's motto of 'Learning, Meeting and Understanding', the winners of this yearly award are taken on a tour of a Canadian region to allow them to meet people and experience the realities in another part of the country.

This year Rebecca Low and Gil Lamy will escort the winners to Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.

April 11 - Calgary - Annual General Meeting
The Canadian Unity Council's 34th Annual General Meeting will be held at the Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire.

This one-day event will include a dialogue/debate luncheon on the theme, 'Us vs. Them: Myth or Reality? A solution-oriented debate on regional discontent in Canada' . Workshop sessions with CUC staff will also be held.

April 8 - French for the Future
The CUC has been a longstanding partner of French for the Future and we are pleased to participate in this year's national conference.

Conferences will be held in Vancouver, Whitehorse, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Toronto, Fredericton, Halifax, St. John's, Montreal, Charlottetown and Sudbury. These cities will be linked via satellite.
