Welcome to the CUC Ontario Regional Office

The Canadian Unity Council (CUC) is a national, non-governmental, non-partisan organization dedicated to inform and engage all Canadians in the building and strengthening of Canada.

Located in Toronto, the Ontario regional office works with a range of partners to initiate activities aimed at bringing people and communities together for mutual learning and understanding. Together with the CUC’s staff and esteemed Governors, Canadians from all walks of life meet and discuss issues affecting the political, economic and social cohesiveness of Canada. These gatherings are informed by, and in turn inform, the public opinion polling, analysis and publications of the Council's research, information and citizen participation program - the Centre for Research and Information on Canada (CRIC) - headquartered in Montreal.

The Ontario office is continuously expanding its Young Leaders Series, roundtables, dinners, public lectures as well as activities aimed at reflecting issues of diversity relevant to this large region. Staff

Rebecca A. Low, Director General, Research and Regional Operations (outside Quebec)

Originally from Calgary, Rebecca brings with her a decade of experience working as a senior political advisor to cabinet ministers in Ottawa and Ontario. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in both Canadian Studies and Political Science from Carleton University. Growing up in Calgary, she attended French immersion school and is now actively involved as Treasurer of the Board for French for the Future/ Français pour l’avenir. She is also Vice President of the Canadian Institute of International Affairs (Toronto Branch) and a member of Leaside Rotary.

Loreli C. Buenaventura, Senior Organizer (Ontario)

Loreli brings with her a multi-disciplinary background in the arts, finance, as well as community and international development. A former consultant with Media Profile, she has a wide range of experience in media relations, public affairs, issues management, corporate communications and Aboriginal issues. Loreli was also responsible for the communications initiatives in international securities lending for one of Canada's major banks as well as various capacities for the Ontario Premier's Office and Quebec's National Assembly. Loreli holds a double Honours degree in French and Political Studies from the University of Manitoba and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of Toronto (OISE/UT).
