JULY 2003 - The business magazine Alberta Venture has named Michèle Stanners one of Alberta's 50 most influential people.

Michèle Stanners Western Regional Director, The Canadian Unity Council

Michèle Stanners became regional director in 1997. Stanners, a Franco-Manitoban born in St. Boniface, ran a consultancy and practiced law before joining the Council. She is a member of the Law Society of Alberta and is active in the Calgary community. She has won a number of awards for her work, including the Louis Lebel Prize of Excellence for outstanding contribution to Alberta's francophone community.

On June 24, 2003, The Canadian Unity Council hosted its fourth luncheon in the Young Leaders Luncheon Series sponsored by Enbridge and TransAlta. Over 220 participants representing the private, public and not for profit sectors attended the 90 minute session at the Westin Hotel in Calgary Alberta.
