JOHN PARISELLA

John Parisella is president of BCP. Under this title, he is responsible for all communication operations of BCP, worldwide. He equally holds the title of Vice-president of council and leads the Strategic Counsel Unit.

Well-acquainted with the political environment, business and the world of communications, John Parisella has worked in the field of communications, for over 25 years. Few people in Canada have as vast an amount of experience in strategic communications, as does he. He acts as strategic communication consultant and crisis manager as much for leaders in the private sector, as he does for those in the public and para-public sectors. He serves, amongst others, TVA Group, Téléfilm Canada, Canada Post Corporation, the Ministry of Indian and Northern Affairs, Atomic Energy of Canada, and the Millennium Fund Foundation.

After having received his degree in Education, as well as a Masters in Political Science from McGill University, John Parisella began his career at the Montreal Catholic School Commission as instructor, and head of department.

In 1980, he joined the Liberal Party of Quebec, where he came on board as regional coordinator. From 1986 through 1994, he occupied, at various periods, the role of General Director of the Liberal Part of Quebec, Deputy Chief of staff, and Chief of staff to Premier Robert Bourassa.

His expertise earned him the title of Analyst for the Quebec Political Scene for several public affairs programs. He also held the title of television commentator for "CBC Newsworld", as well as hosting a weekly radio show for broadcaster "CJAD", and acted as political columnist at "CKVL". Furthermore, he had been a part-time professor in the Department of Political Science, at Concordia University.

Mr. Parisella is a graduate of Concordia University (Loyola, B.A. '67), of McGill University (M.A., '71, Education, '73 and Administration, '77) and of Harvard University (Senior Government Management, '88). He is president of the Council for Canadian Unity (Quebec Sector), president of the Advisory Board Committee of Global Quebec, vice-president of the Council of Governors of Concordia University, member of the Advisory Committee for the TVA national network, member of the Administrative Council of Arion, and honorary president of the Eye Bank Foundation of Quebec.
